Aishling's Trip to Cancun and New York

I recently travelled to Cancun and New York, flying from Dublin to Gatwick then to Cancun, then JFK, then Heathrow and then finally back to Dublin via British Airways. The transfer from Cancun airport to the hotel was only 20 minutes and the transfer from JFK was about 30 minutes.
Location
The Grand Park Royal Hotel is located on a private 500m stretch of beach in the main area of Cancun. Situated on East 44th Street directly opposite Grand Central Terminal and close to Times Square, the location of the Fitzpatrick Grand Central hotel puts you in the middle of almost everything New York City has to offer.
What I Loved
I enjoyed a relaxing time in Cancun; we had a swim up room at the Grand Park Royal Hotel which meant we were VIP guests, so we had our own private butler & discounts for the Spa which we treated ourselves with a couple massage! New York was amazing with a buzzing atmosphere, lots to do and the food was delicious.
Activities & Places to See
- Paragliding in Cancun.
- The Hop On Hop Off bus tour was a great way to see all of the famous attractions in New York.
- The Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Wall Street, One World Trade Centre, the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island were all great visits.
Shopping
Shopping in New York was great, but prices are very similar to Ireland. We took a trip out to New Jersey to the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall, which is similar to Kildare Village in Ireland.
Food & Bars
Coco Bongo Bar in Cancun is a big nightclub with different events on such as foam parties. We stayed in the hotel mostly as it was all inclusive, and has 6 restaurants which we pre-booked through our butler. Restaurants in the Park Royal included Italian, Mexican, Japanese and many more. During your visit to New York, you must try the famous Joe's Pizza near Times Square - I think it might be the nicest pizza in New York!
